![]() When I handed this 'visa' to the Havana Immigration Officer, she told me I did not need it. The so-called visa is a small blank form which I filled in my particulars. And I was told that I must pay for a US $25 Cuban visa despite my protest that Singaporeans are visa exempt. They would not sell me a one-way ticket to Havana unless I buy a return ticket as well. It is my opinion that they are in cahoots to rip off travellers. However, I have nothing but disgust for the local airlines and check-in staff. The staff are friendly and helpful, a few even speak good English. Beds are comfortable and fresh towels provided every day. The rooms, bathrooms, toilets and common areas are squeaky clean. The dorms come with lockers, fans and air-condition. And eat cheap at a nearby park where locals converge to eat, sing, dance and socialize every evening. Wine, dine and shop on the main street and side streets. It is a 3 minutes walk to the main AdoBus Terminal, the hub to airport and all other destinations. Thumps up ! Location is excellent, off a side street in Central Cancun. I have yet to come across a hostel that offers a sizeable swimming pool in its courtyard and an all-you-can-eat breakfast at US $12 a night.
